The Future of Post is a bi-annual event comprising three 90-minute panel discussions that explore best practice workflow and technology choice from on-set to final master.
The latest event, which took place last month, saw Tyrell’s Technical Director, Declan Hogan join the panel for the session, Virtualisation in Post: Are We Ready?, to discuss whether cloud services have a place in post and broadcast, and when and why is it practical.
Along with Declan the panel included Michael Wrightson, Chief Operating Officer at Virtual Post, Davide Maglio at Ownzones, Olly Strous, Head of Post Production at ITN Productions and was chaired by Jess Nottage, CTO at Clear Cut Pictures. They discussed whether the technology is quite there yet and whether service providers are motivated enough to provide cloud services. Declan was an integral part of this discussion, and spoke candidly, drawing from his first-hand experience with customers and engaging animatedly with the high-quality audience that was in attendance for the event.
July’s Future of Post event also included two further sessions Mastering for ‘NETFLIX’ and HDR from on-set to Final Master. These panel sessions were practical and immediately applicable while being topical, as they focus directly on current thinking and points of change. Tyrell also demoed Avid Media Central and the all-new Media Composer 2019, plus the Avid Nexis E2 in the expo area, allowing attendees to get a live insight into these innovative solutions.
The Future of Post events are about sharing knowledge across the UK post and production communities and Tyrell were delighted to be a part of such an inspiring event.
