RTE News adds LiveU to its US Office

The US office of RTE News has just added a LiveU LU600 unit to its large existing LiveU infrastructure. Just in time for US Presidential Inauguration

The LU600 delivers the highest video quality and bitrate in the market (up to 20Mbps), and is set to offer the fastest file transfer (80Mbps), lowest delay (0.5 sec) and 100Mbps high-speed bonded Internet connection. The new LU600 is field upgradable to H.265 HEVC, continuing LiveU’s adoption of the latest encoding standards and providing support for ‘Live & Store’ using the same video card.

The Lir Academy offers Stage Management and Technical Theatre courses at Trinity College Dublin. In my last VR article, titled “VR – a more immersive rabbit hole” I discussed whether or not it would be fair to describe this emerging technology as a fad and summarily decided that, owing in no small part to the corporations invested in its growth, it is not. I explored VR from a bird’s eye view, reviewing the companies who had already invested (FaceBook, Valve, HTC and, of course, Oculus) and potential growth areas.
